Brotherhood

young homeless man kody from san diego. kody's girlfriend was living in various shelters in san diego. she was in a bad state, and he 'had to make due' on the side. he says she was ok with it so long as it wasn't with her friends. well it wasn't ok with her. she went off upon hearing about a girl he had been with. she basically disappeared. he didn't sweat it; he was doing his own thing.

kody was arrested in 2005 for resisting arrest. it took 6 officers to subdue him. he ended up getting off on a technicality. but part of his release required him to return to court in january 06.

it was also in january that he heard from his girlfriend. she was pregnant and about to give birth. problem is, he got arrested and thrown in jail for not showing at court. he had his best friend (his 'brother') help her through and be with her at the hospital.

when he got out of jail, she refused to let him see his new daughter. and, he finds out, she moved in with his 'brother' ...and she married him.

kody says he believes in friendship above all. so he went to see his friend to talk. he felt such rage upon seeing him that he knew violence was the only option if he stayed. so turned and left.

and came to san francisco.
